About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive business development activities across the Spanish defense market, identifying and developing opportunities aligned with Destinus' technologies and strategic priorities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Spanish Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces, government organizations, defense industry, and strategic partners
- Develop a deep understanding of customer requirements, operational needs, procurement processes, and upcoming defense programs in Spain
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities, taking ownership from early market engagement through qualification, proposal development, negotiation, and contract award
- Position Destinus and its solutions effectively with customers, partners, and decision makers, communicating complex technologies in a clear and commercially compelling way
- Monitor Spanish defense priorities, budgets, procurement plans, competitor activity, and market developments to identify opportunities early
- Coordinate closely with engineering, product, program, legal, finance, and leadership teams to develop competitive proposals and commercial strategies
- Support tenders, RFIs, RFPs, demonstrations, customer meetings, industry events, and other activities throughout the business development cycle
- Identify potential local partners and develop strategic relationships that strengthen Destinus' position and capabilities in Spain
- Maintain accurate opportunity forecasts and provide clear visibility on pipeline development, customer engagement, risks, and next steps
- Represent Destinus at relevant defense exhibitions, conferences, customer meetings, and industry events in Spain and internationally
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience in business development, sales, partnerships, or a related commercial role, ideally within defense, aerospace, security, or another highly technical industry
- Strong understanding of the Spanish defense ecosystem, including relevant institutions, stakeholders, procurement processes, and industry dynamics
- Existing relationships within the Spanish defense sector are highly valued
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, develop customer relationships, and move complex opportunities through long sales cycles
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to understand both customer requirements and technical products
- Confidence working directly with senior stakeholders, customers, government representatives, and industry partners
- Experience contributing to tenders, proposals, commercial negotiations, or government procurement processes
- Ability to coordinate effectively across technical and commercial teams in an international environment
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Fluent Spanish and professional working proficiency in English
- Availability to travel regularly within Spain and internationally when required
