About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the Executive Director with supervision and management of all community operations
  • Support strategic direction and daily operational oversight
  • Manage high-level administrative tasks involving finance, payroll, human resources, and resident/team satisfaction
  • Implement new regulations and procedures according to federal, state, and company standards
  • Oversee financial records, petty cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, spend-downs, and other financial documents
  • Compile reports and data, including requested DSL reports and documents
  • Maintain accurate information on property, operational, financial, team member, and resident matters
  • Document resident and team concerns and track resolution progress
  • Assist with annual budgeting and financial performance strategies
  • Ensure collection and deposit of rent and service fees
  • Address emergencies and participate in rotational on-call responsibilities
  • Maintain communication with residents, families, team members, and the DSL home office
  • Coordinate admissions, move-ins, and move-outs
  • Represent the community through local professional contacts and community organizations
  • Support sales activities, tours, inquiries, and follow-up with the Senior Living Advisor
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, retention, and performance management
  • Complete payroll corrections and documentation
  • Consult on disciplinary actions and dismissals
  • Maintain personnel files and reports
  • Report and document team member workplace injuries
  • Develop and coordinate team member development and recognition programs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in management and supervision
  • Demonstrated success in operations management, team leadership, and financial oversight
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills in a fast paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for senior living communities
  • Understanding of employment and labor laws, including Family and Medical Leave Act, Minimum Wage, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), ADA, Fair Housing, and workers compensation
  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge of, or willingness and ability to learn, company computer programs
  • Ability to travel occasionally for meetings or continuing education
  • Previous experience in senior living preferred
  • Enjoyment in working with older adults
