About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Corporate HQ Legal team with commercial contract review, contract management and administration, compliance, third-party onboarding, labor/HR, corporate, governance, litigation, property, and ad hoc legal matters
- Review, analyze, draft, negotiate, administer, and maintain commercial contracts throughout their lifecycle
- Maintain organized contract records and monitor contractual milestones, deadlines, notices, deliverables, and obligations
- Coordinate contract approvals and execution according to company policies and authorization requirements
- Review contractual terms and identify commercial, operational, financial, and compliance risks
- Escalate material risks and non-standard terms to the Head of Legal and draft appropriate contract changes after consulting stakeholders
- Maintain the company’s template agreement suite in accordance with applicable law and company strategy
- Administer automated due diligence and third-party screening for suppliers, customers, distributors, and agents
- Review screening results, advise on company risk, and liaise with cross-functional teams on onboarding approvals and rejections
- Provide general advice and troubleshooting on regulatory and compliance matters
- Support preparation and review of employment agreements, handbooks, non-compete agreements, and severance agreements
- Support capability, disciplinary, and performance management processes, including workplace investigations
- Gather evidence, organize files, and manage discovery for workplace investigations or court claims
- Support the Head of Legal with research, advice, due diligence, and drafting across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Warranty, Engineering, IT, Sales, and Marketing
- Maintain company policies and provide legal input on process updates or changes
- Act as the initial point person for US ad hoc legal queries in consultation with the Group Head of Legal
- Report to the Group Head of Legal based at Dialight’s Corporate HQ in London, England
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Law and/or Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2–5 years of experience as an in-house Paralegal and/or Contract Manager
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and providing advice on a wide range of commercial contracts and related business documents
- Generalist legal knowledge and experience across corporate, commercial, labor, compliance, and governance workstreams
- Commercial acumen and understanding of cross-functional business processes
- Willingness to provide administrative legal support in line with company software, processes, filing, and internal controls
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and organizational levels
- Preferred: experience in industrial manufacturing, engineered products, construction, engineering, energy, infrastructure, or another project-based environment
- Preferred: experience with sales, agency, reseller, customer, supplier, subcontractor, or master service agreements
- Preferred: familiarity with purchase/sale terms and conditions, change orders, purchase orders, statements of work, claims, and contract amendments
- Preferred: experience with ERP, procurement, or contract lifecycle management systems
- Preferred: familiarity with commercial and contractual risk concepts
- Preferred: experience working with Legal, Sales, Procurement, HR, Marketing, IT, and Finance functions in a corporate environment
- Preferred: experience supporting legal workstreams cross-jurisdictionally in different global regions
- Professional certification in contract management, procurement, or supply chain is a plus
