About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute a regional sales strategy to achieve revenue and gross-margin objectives
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new accounts throughout Houston and the Ship Channel
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline from prospecting through close
  • Conduct customer visits, facility assessments, product demonstrations, and sales presentations
  • Develop relationships with plant managers, maintenance managers, electrical engineers, procurement teams, project managers, contractors, and other decision-makers
  • Pursue retrofit, new construction, maintenance, and capital-project opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to replace legacy lighting systems with industrial LED solutions
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, ROI analyses, and project-specific solutions with internal teams
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms while protecting company margins
  • Develop relationships with EPCs, electrical contractors, engineering firms, industrial distributors, and specification influencers
  • Get company products specified into industrial projects at the engineering and design stage
  • Develop and manage distributor and contractor relationships within the territory
  • Build strategic account plans for high-value industrial customers
  • Monitor competitive activity, market trends, pricing, and customer requirements
  • Maintain and expand existing customer relationships and increase share of wallet
  • Serve as the primary regional point of contact for customers and channel partners
  • Coordinate with customer service, engineering, operations, and product management to resolve customer issues and ensure successful project execution
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity pipelines, and sales forecasts
  • Provide regular forecasts and territory updates to sales leadership
  • Track regional sales performance against established goals
  • Report competitive intelligence, market opportunities, and customer feedback to management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of B2B industrial sales experience, preferably selling electrical, lighting, automation, MRO, or industrial products
  • Demonstrated success selling into refineries, petrochemical plants, chemical facilities, manufacturing plants, terminals, or other heavy-industrial environments
  • Established relationships within the Houston industrial market are strongly preferred
  • Understanding of the Houston Ship Channel industrial ecosystem is highly desirable
  • Experience working with EPCs, electrical contractors, distributors, and engineering firms
  • Strong consultative and solution-based selling skills
  • Ability to understand technical product specifications and communicate their value to technical and non-technical customers
  • Strong prospecting, negotiation, presentation, and closing skills
  • Comfortable managing long and complex sales cycles
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a field-based sales role
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Houston/Gulf Coast territory
  • Experience with industrial LED lighting, hazardous-location lighting, explosion-proof lighting, high-bay and low-bay lighting, petrochemical/refinery lighting, electrical products and distribution, MRO products, industrial automation, process industries, EPC project sales, electrical contracting, industrial construction, lighting controls, or energy-efficiency solutions is a significant advantage
