About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead sales and use tax compliance, planning, and controversy work
- Monitor and advise on indirect tax law changes and business impacts
- Identify tax optimization, exposure reduction, and refund recovery opportunities
- Support remediation, controversies, corrective filings, technology transformation, and process improvement initiatives
- Manage sales and use tax exemptions and incentives related to data center operations and other state credit programs
- Identify eligible company activities, analyze supporting documentation, and assist with claims and filings
- Prepare and review calculations, tax forms, memoranda, executive summaries, and audit response support
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and identify new incentives or process improvements
- Define deliverables, track project status, and report on tax initiatives
- Build relationships across Infrastructure, Finance, Legal, and business teams
- Coordinate workstreams, guide teams, research business operations, communicate risks and opportunities, and liaise with tax advisors and state and local authorities
- Report to the Director, Indirect Tax
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in sales and use tax
- Experience with sales and use tax compliance, planning, or controversy work
- Experience preparing technical analyses, credit calculations, tax forms, memoranda, executive summaries, or audit response materials
- Strong technical knowledge across sales/use tax and credits & incentives disciplines
- Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
- Ability to lead projects or workstreams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong influencing skills and confidence to question existing processes
- Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
- Complex problem-solving and critical thinking skills
