About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the month-end close, including revenue recognition, accruals, prepaids, reconciliations, and the close calendar
  • Manage recurring, project, and variable revenue, including mid-month starts, churn, offering swaps, and prorations
  • Manage the accountant and oversee AP, AR, payroll entries, and multi-country compliance across the US, Canada, Mexico, and UK
  • Maintain clean, documented, audit-ready books with strong internal controls and reconciliations
  • Oversee billing accuracy and collections in partnership with account teams
  • Maintain monthly client and divisional P&Ls, allocating staff costs from time-tracking data, direct COGS, and overhead
  • Track gross margin and EBITDA performance, flagging and explaining variances
  • Assist the Head of Finance with budgeting, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis
  • Present monthly results with a clear point of view
  • Support pricing and capacity planning by modeling new-client economics, hiring timing, and utilization
  • Report on revenue KPIs including NRR, churn, expansion, and revenue per head
  • Automate and improve reporting
  • Serve as the Head of Finance’s right hand and help shape pricing, staffing, and growth decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years in accounting and/or FP&A
  • Hands-on month-end close ownership under GAAP
  • Experience with revenue recognition for service businesses
  • Strong modeling skills in Excel / Google Sheets, including SUMIFS, lookups, and driver-based models
  • Experience in professional services, agencies, or SaaS
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or a similar ERP is a plus
  • Familiarity with time-tracking tools such as Harvest is a plus
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Established and current work authorization in Mexico without sponsorship
  • Permanent residence in Mexico
  • Reliable internet access
  • Ability to operate a laptop, software platforms, and office productivity tools
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and observe and interpret written and verbal communication
  • Multi-entity or multi-currency accounting experience is a nice to have
  • Experience building client or project profitability reporting is a nice to have
  • Comfort using AI tools to speed up analysis and reporting is a nice to have
