About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead pricing strategy, planning, and execution across DIRECTV’s residential video portfolio
  • Lead a team of three pricing professionals
  • Oversee annual price increases, acquisition and rack-rate pricing, promotional roll-offs, new package pricing, ancillary fees, and other customer bill changes
  • Establish business-case standards and pricing governance balancing revenue, margin, acquisition, churn, and long-term customer value
  • Develop pricing roadmaps and lead complex initiatives from strategic evaluation through implementation and performance measurement
  • Lead annual and in-year price management, including strategy, modeling, recommendations, execution, timing, magnitude, sequencing, and customer allocation
  • Maintain an integrated roadmap of customer bill changes and manage operational dependencies and churn risks
  • Own pricing architecture across packages, genre packs, add-ons, premium services, hardware, and portfolio components
  • Evaluate pricing for new packages, products, features, services, and major revenue or cost-recovery levers
  • Monitor competitive pricing, promotional constructs, package composition, and perceived value
  • Evaluate pricing constructs, elasticity, roll-off behavior, and margin impact
  • Build and oversee financial models, business cases, scenarios, and sensitivities
  • Measure post-launch performance against approved business cases
  • Establish pricing governance, approval processes, decision rights, and documentation standards
  • Coordinate proposed recurring or one-time customer bill changes
  • Present pricing strategies and recommendations to senior and executive leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop pricing analysts and specialists
  • Establish team roles, priorities, performance expectations, and development plans
  • Build cross-functional partnerships and maintain accountability for pricing recommendations and outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive experience in pricing strategy, revenue management, product strategy, or a related discipline, preferably within subscription, telecommunications, media, entertainment, or another recurring-revenue business
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale price changes from initial strategy and financial modeling through implementation and performance measurement
  • Strong understanding of subscription pricing constructs, including introductory pricing, rack rates, promotional guarantees, roll-offs, fees, discounts, and everyday pricing
  • Experience evaluating new product or package pricing and managing pricing relationships across a multi-product portfolio
  • Advanced financial modeling and business-case development skills
  • Strong understanding of revenue, margin, churn, acquisition, customer lifetime value, and P&L impact
  • Ability to translate complex analyses into clear recommendations, decisions, and executive-level presentations
  • Ability to identify execution risks and coordinate complex initiatives across Finance, Product, Marketing, Technology, Billing, Sales, Care, Legal, and Communications
  • Strong understanding of pricing analytics, competitive intelligence, customer segmentation, elasticity, and post-launch performance measurement
  • Experience establishing governance processes, analytical standards, and decision frameworks
  • Proven people-leadership experience, including developing high-performing analytical teams
  • Excellent judgment and attention to detail
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, independently establish priorities, and execute a multi-month strategic roadmap with limited oversight
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, marketing, analytics, or a related field
  • May require a background check due to routine access to DIRECTV and DIRECTV customer proprietary data

  • Must be located in the United States, excluding Alaska
