About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with Business Development, Marketing, and Scientific teams to support customer needs and advance projects
  • Support Business Development Directors with updating opportunities in Salesforce
  • Manage opportunity pipeline, feasibility, and proposal case queues
  • Execute performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones with Business Development Directors
  • Maintain updated next steps and customer feedback in opportunity, feasibility, and proposal pipelines
  • Support assigned territory needs by updating opportunity funnels, creating opportunities and quotes, and providing coverage during PTO or open territory periods
  • Maintain sales database data integrity and submit cases to feasibility
  • Assist with feasibility of opportunities, create sales quotes, and close purchase orders in Salesforce
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and communicate core competencies
  • Engage appropriate internal teams to advance client discussions and meet research needs
  • Present and evaluate client project workability with subject matter experts, proposal, and legal contracting teams
  • Generate sales pipeline reports, account briefings, and other reports
  • Advance sales calls and win business by setting and executing clear next steps
  • Work with Marketing and Feasibility to maximize sales success
  • Report market intelligence through documented sales calls and client feedback
  • Become confident presenting Discovery Life Sciences service offerings to potential clients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related field
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in biotechnology, life sciences, sales, or related field
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com or other CRM platforms is a plus
  • Must be able to work in the eastern or central US time zone
  • Less than 5% domestic or international travel required for mandatory site meetings and trainings
  • Unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of applicant work visas
