About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prospect and source potential new pharma and biotech customers
  • Sell genomics, immunochemistry (IHC), proteomics, and flow cytometry services
  • Pitch and present research services and solutions
  • Coordinate strategic meetings between customer senior scientific leadership and Company leadership
  • Collaborate with scientific subject-matter experts to obtain sales contracts
  • Present and help evaluate client project workability with procurement Feasibility, Scientific Leadership, and collaborators
  • Manage a pipeline of 25–50+ open opportunities and the Feasibility case queue
  • Advance calls and win business by setting and executing clear next steps
  • Use logic, reason, and scientific acumen to close deals
  • Report market intelligence and document sales calls and client feedback
  • Collaborate with inside sales support, Global Account Managers, Business Development Directors, Marketing, and Feasibility
  • Generate client reports as needed
  • Respect personal information privacy
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of business development sales experience selling one or more of genomics, immunohistochemistry (IHC), proteomics, or flow cytometry services
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Biotechnology or Chemistry; Biology preferred
  • MS or PhD preferred
  • Ability to build and nurture relationships with large pharma clients and potential clients
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team
  • Team-first attitude and passion to achieve Commercial Team and company-wide goals
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Eastern or Central time zone preferred
  • Up to 50% travel required
  • Consistent and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position
