About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the primary technical counterpart for strategic accounts
Build trust with CIO/CTO-level leaders, enterprise architects, and business executives
Help customers identify where AI can materially change operations
Shape ambitious but deliverable technical visions
Lead joint solution architecture with customer teams
Apply Distyl’s platform and technical primitives to real enterprise systems
Use prototypes and demos to validate key assumptions
Own technical SOW content, including integrations, data access, deployment model, dependencies, assumptions, and risks
Assess opportunity fit for AI and evaluate data, systems, security, integration, and organizational constraints
Determine technical feasibility before Distyl commits to scope
Translate recurring needs, architecture patterns, security constraints, and deployment learnings into reusable technical assets
Provide feedback influencing Distyl’s platform, product, and engineering roadmap
Maintain the technical relationship from initial conversations through delivery
Participate in architecture reviews, executive steering, major tradeoffs, risk escalations, and expansion opportunities
Partner with forward-deployed engineers on implementation for qualified late-stage pursuits
Empower the Technical Delivery Lead to own day-to-day execution

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of relevant experience across engineering, enterprise architecture, forward-deployed engineering, solutions architecture, or similar roles
Substantial customer-facing responsibility
Hands-on production delivery experience
Designed, built, and shipped enterprise-grade Agentic AI/ML systems
Ability to reason about implementation tradeoffs, reliability, integration, scale, security, and operating constraints
Ability to operate as a senior technical advisor to executives
Proven ownership of complex enterprise solution architecture and scope
Ability to write technical SOW content
Ability to align customer teams, GTM, and delivery around buildable solutions
Ability to work effectively with FDE, Delivery, Product & Strategy teams
Strong working knowledge of APIs, integrations, cloud and enterprise architecture, data flows, and security considerations
Coding fluency for prototyping, system inspection, and deep engagement with engineers
Deep domain expertise in one or more enterprise areas such as customer support, voice, MarTech, Cybersecurity, IAM, or Document processing
Able to travel 25% and meet onsite with customer teams
Able to work from the New York or San Francisco office Tuesday–Thursday
Preferred: background in FDE, engineering, or technical consulting with ownership of customer outcomes and technical decisions
Preferred: experience in a partner-like role at a consulting, technology, or enterprise software company with long, C-suite-led sales cycles
Preferred: early-stage startup experience and comfort operating in ambiguous environments
