About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead on-site architecture, deployment, and configuration of the Core Aggregation Node in SOCOM’s secure distributed cloud environment
- Stand up, harden, and operate AWS GovCloud production workloads
- Own Kubernetes cluster lifecycle across cloud and on-premise environments, including upgrades, scaling, monitoring, and incident response
- Architect and troubleshoot secure data synchronization across Cross Domain Solutions and data diodes
- Translate operational realities into technical requirements for core product engineering
- Engage operational users and Government technical stakeholders on workflows, integrations, constraints, and deployment readiness
- Document and validate operational and technical requirements with acceptance criteria
- Provide Tier 2/3 troubleshooting and sustainment engineering for the APFIT program
- Reproduce issues, collect diagnostics, identify root causes, implement fixes or workarounds, and coordinate defects through closure
- Support integration, testing, demonstrations, deployments, and operational validation events
- Develop test procedures, document results, and track deficiencies
- Maintain integration documentation, configuration baselines, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting guides
- Provide technical knowledge transfer to support Government operation and maintenance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must hold an active TS/SCI clearance
- U.S. Citizenship is strictly required
- 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure engineering
- 2+ years of technical experience with container orchestration platforms and cloud-native architectures in secure environments
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and infrastructure-as-code tooling
- Experience with AWS GovCloud or equivalent FedRAMP-authorized cloud platforms at IL4/IL5/IL6
- Understanding of compliance, networking, and architectural constraints at high impact levels
- Experience diagnosing complex applications, data synchronization, integration, and networking issues
- Experience leading customer discovery sessions and translating operational needs into clear, testable technical requirements
- Ability to communicate technical constraints, tradeoffs, and remediation plans
- Nice to have: Cross Domain Solutions and data diodes
- Nice to have: ATO process, STIG implementation, vulnerability management, and ISSM/ISSO collaboration
- Nice to have: SOCOM/SOF-centric IT environments
- Nice to have: GitOps workflows such as ArgoCD or Flux
- Nice to have: Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ
- Nice to have: DoD, IC, or SOCOM customer experience
