About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive business development efforts within Divert’s Industrials team
- Own significant books of business from market discovery and opportunity identification through qualification, close, enablement, and growth
- Conduct market discovery and develop expertise across the region
- Match facility capabilities and capacity with market needs
- Map industrial customers and sub-verticals
- Understand market dynamics, competitors, partners, and price points to win business and achieve revenue goals
- Maintain and execute a pipeline to identify, qualify, and win new business
- Connect with key customer stakeholders and understand their needs
- Create solutions leveraging Divert’s offerings
- Advocate for the Voice of the Customer within the team and broader organization
- Communicate market pain points and opportunities
- Ensure a concierge-level experience through business development and onboarding
- Transition customers successfully to Customer Success
- Collaborate with Marketing, RevOps, Customer Success, Product, and Operations
- Travel 25–50% annually
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
- 2–4 years of experience in business development, customer acquisition, and project execution
- 2–4 years of experience in the energy, recycling, food & beverage, and/or transportation industries
- Valid driver's license required for travel
- Very strong communication skills with empathy for different audiences’ needs
- Demonstrated success with data analysis in a commercial / business development context
- Detail oriented, strong sense of urgency, and ability to work independently and as part of a larger, cross-functional team
- Comfort with standard business tools, e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience in physical operations, e.g., plant operations, manufacturing, or similar
- Ability to build customer pipelines, cultivate relationships, and close deals
- Ability to thrive in a high-growth context with numerous internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated interest in sustainability and/or boots-on-the-ground industry experience
- Experience with solution sales of liquid (DAF / SAF sludge) waste, palletized waste, or physical operations, e.g., plant operations, manufacturing, or similar
