About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a strategic advisor on commercial contracting, product launches, technology licensing, and legal issues involving AI-enabled products and services
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including software and technology licensing, SaaS, master services, data processing, customer, and vendor agreements
- Advise on development, deployment, and commercialization of AI and machine learning products and services
- Advise on AI governance, responsible AI practices, and emerging AI regulation
- Identify legal risks and propose practical mitigation strategies
- Advise on data privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance
- Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Business teams on deals, product launches, and transactional support
- Monitor AI law and data protection developments and update documentation
- Use AI tools and legal technology to improve legal service delivery
- Support other legal areas such as employment law, litigation strategy, and risk management
- Interface with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Executive Management teams across the organization
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctor with a current Bar license
- Between 5 to 10 years of experience in commercial/transactional law and technology licensing
- Experience advising on artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, and data privacy
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills across commercial and technology agreements
- Ability to assess and communicate legal risk pragmatically in a fast-paced, high-tech environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines
- Process-oriented mindset
- Adaptability and intellectual curiosity
- Collaborative team player
- Proficiency with legal technology and AI tools
- Must be based in the United States
