About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Proactively manage the daily operation and delivery of safety, cost, quality, compliance and people KPIs in line with company, legal and airline standards
  • Maintain an effective and productive team focused on results and develop effective customer relationships
  • Maintain high standards in quality, food safety, HACCP and Health & Safety
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and delays, determine root causes, and implement solutions
  • Ensure work follows the daily schedule and costs remain within agreed targets; escalate issues when necessary
  • Collaborate with the Shift Supervisor to manage rosters, work schedules and teams fairly and effectively
  • Manage material, product and related costs within budget and deadlines
  • Manage targets and demonstrate their impact on business performance
  • Champion change initiatives and improvements with OPS Ex
  • Ensure internal and external customer service standards are met and maintain proactive communication with stakeholders
  • Adhere to legislation, company policy and compliance standards
  • Provide leadership, coaching and training, and handle employee relations issues according to company policy
  • Deliver inflight catering services through dnata Catering, a UK air and travel services provider

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Tacho and Working Time Directive regulation knowledge
  • Level 4 qualification, i.e. A Level or equivalent experience
  • GCSE English and Maths grade C/4 or above
  • CPC knowledge
  • Demonstrable people management experience, including dealing with performance issues, holidays, rosters and absence management
  • Experience in a fast-moving and changing shop floor environment such as manufacturing, logistics, or FMCG
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Experience within the transport sector or logistics
  • Stakeholder management
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Understanding of cost and control management
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisation skills and flexibility
