About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide comprehensive project management support for IRS Criminal Investigation (IRS CI) client technology operations
  • Plan, coordinate, monitor, and control activities across the CMSS task order
  • Develop, maintain, and update an Integrated Master Schedule covering subtasks, dependencies, milestones, deliverables, and period-of-performance activities
  • Coordinate planning and execution across CMSS workstreams to maintain task integration, resource alignment, and timely service delivery
  • Identify, assess, document, and manage program risks and issues, including mitigation, escalation, and contingency planning
  • Monitor performance against SLOs, KPIs, milestones, deliverables, and defined performance measures
  • Prepare and deliver weekly, biweekly, and monthly status reports
  • Develop executive-level briefings, dashboards, and reporting products
  • Facilitate program reviews, governance activities, stakeholder meetings, decision forums, and program-level engagements
  • Track action items, decisions, dependencies, and commitments through resolution
  • Support scope, schedule, budget, resource, and change management across technical initiatives
  • Manage configuration and change control for workstation images, baseline settings, software packages, deployment artifacts, and related updates
  • Ensure documentation, reporting, and execution comply with IRS policies, security requirements, quality standards, and operational procedures
  • Evaluate performance and recommend process improvements, efficiencies, and corrective actions
  • Support communication and collaboration among technical teams, business stakeholders, leadership, and customer representatives
  • Provide leadership and coordination from project initiation through closure

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5–8 or more years of experience in IT project or program management within enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end project delivery, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, resource, stakeholder, and change management
  • Experience managing cross-functional technical teams and coordinating multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Experience supporting technical initiatives such as infrastructure, endpoint services, software packaging and deployment, asset management, or related enterprise IT operations
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain integrated schedules, track dependencies, monitor milestones, and manage deliverables
  • Experience identifying and managing risks, issues, action items, and mitigation plans
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare status reports and briefings for executive-level audiences
  • Experience developing or using KPIs, dashboards, performance reports, and data-driven program insights
  • Ability to facilitate governance forums, stakeholder meetings, working groups, and decision-making sessions
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a structured, compliance-focused environment
  • Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Preferred: Agile, Scrum, or other project management certification or formal training
  • Preferred: Experience supporting federal government, IRS, law enforcement, or other regulated environments
  • Preferred: Experience with client endpoint management, workstation lifecycle operations, software deployment, or IT service management
  • Preferred: Familiarity with configuration management, security controls, service-level management, and operational readiness activities
