About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Pou Ngā Whenua Rāhui, Pou Hēteri-Ā-Nuku and the Ngā Whenua Rāhui and Hēteri-Ā-Nuku kaimahi
  • Administer and maintain team systems and processes
  • Provide administrative support including diary and email management, planning and event management
  • Support team members with travel and accommodation arrangements
  • Prepare documentation including presentations, task assignments, reports and briefings
  • Support taskforces, including taking minutes of meetings
  • Coordinate fleet management at office sites
  • Apply basic knowledge of budget management
  • Establish and manage relationships with key stakeholders externally and within DOC

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven aptitude in an administrative role
  • Initiative and thoughtfulness
  • Knowledge/understanding of Government is helpful but not essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly effective planning and organisational skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Expertise using the Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge and experience in planning and organising projects
  • Ability to speak or understand te reo is highly desirable
  • Current full New Zealand driver’s licence
  • Must hold a valid New Zealand work visa that covers the duration of employment
  • CV and cover letter required
