About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own Docker Sandboxes, including its long-term vision, roadmap, revenue, adoption, and results
  • Articulate customers, workflows, pain points, and security, performance, compatibility, and cost constraints
  • Engage with developers building AI agents, coding environments, CI and testing systems, and other secure isolated-execution workloads
  • Build infrastructure products that are easy to adopt and use
  • Translate tradeoffs across isolation, startup time, performance, density, networking, storage, and cost into simple product experiences
  • Guide product definition, feature prioritization, and scope with engineering, design, security, operations, and go-to-market teams
  • Use iterative development to hypothesize, measure adoption and impact, learn from releases, and improve the roadmap
  • Learn Docker Sandboxes' mission, product strategy, and technical architecture
  • Develop understanding of developers, customers, isolated-environment use cases, and reasons they choose Docker
  • Shape team roadmap and product strategy
  • Lead team OKRs and success metrics and provide progress reports
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that make secure isolated execution simple and valuable
  • Drive long-term direction including adoption, ecosystem integration, reliability, scale, unit economics, and ARR

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Deep empathy for developers and commitment to talking to users
  • Prior professional experience as a software engineer, ideally in systems, infrastructure, platform engineering, developer tools, or cloud
  • Strong technical familiarity with sandboxes/microVMs, containers, virtualization technologies, and hypervisors
  • Understanding of Linux, container runtimes, orchestration, networking, storage, APIs, and cloud services
  • Experience designing, building, or operating systems that execute customer-provided, untrusted, or agent-generated code at scale
  • Comfort with command-line interfaces and discussing APIs, SDKs, and technical architecture
  • Experience building B2B or SaaS products, or background in public cloud and developer infrastructure
  • Understanding of software supply chain and software security, including multi-tenant isolation, identity, secrets management, observability, and reliability
  • Ability to break down complex technical problems into small, releasable, user-valuable features
  • Ability to explain complex ideas simply and communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and visually
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data, define success metrics, and prioritize investments
  • Collaborative approach and experience running products from greenfield to scale
  • Ability to work with fast-moving, distributed, cross-functional teams
