About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead engineering strategy and roadmap across Marketplace, Patient Engagement, and Payments
Lead approximately 75 engineers and unify three areas into one connected patient experience
Build a strong engineering organisation, clarify ownership, strengthen the leadership bench, and empower teams
Partner with Product and Design to deliver AI across search, booking, engagement, continuity of care, and payments
Set standards for checking AI output and protecting quality, security, and privacy
Guide architecture and engineering standards across the portfolio
Balance delivery pace with reliability, security, privacy, and scale across markets
Improve prioritisation, measurement, learning, and root-cause problem solving
Align with engineering peers on shared platforms and explain technical trade-offs to executives
Participate in design and code reviews and prototype solutions using AI coding tools
Establish shared priorities and engineering direction across the three areas
Launch AI features in the patient journey and measure their impact
Make AI-assisted engineering the default where valuable and measure speed, quality, and developer experience
Establish clear ownership for engineering managers
Use delivery and quality metrics to identify bottlenecks and improve reliability

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience leading multi-team engineering organisations through managers
Record of growing leaders and delivering through change
Daily, practical fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot
Clear judgment about the strengths, limits, and risks of AI-assisted development
Product mindset connecting engineering strategy to customer outcomes and business results
Technical depth across architecture, delivery, reliability, and security
Strong partnership skills with Product, Design, Data, and business leaders
Experience with marketplaces and complex, high-stakes products where reliability, privacy, and security matter
Permission to work in Spain or Poland without visa sponsorship, or a basis for working in Europe
English language proficiency
