About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide training, supervision, feedback, and discipline for hourly Operations team members
- Route City operation
- Manage daily performance of City Pickup and Delivery Operations for safety, performance, on-time service, cost control, and claims prevention
- Ensure timely and efficient pickups and deliveries while minimizing returns
- Monitor Line Haul operations
- Monitor dock performance and efficiency and adjust manpower as needed
- Resolve lost and missing freight problems
- Communicate with other departments to ensure successful operations
- Work safely and professionally to reduce risks
- Report facility problems to Facility Maintenance
- Comply with federal, state, and company regulations
- Process daily paperwork associated with the job
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum age of 18
- High School completion or equivalent
- Valid Driver License
- Supervisory experience required
- Ability to work any shift
- Knowledge and ability to perform all Operations jobs in the Terminal, including Dock, Dispatch, Warehouse, and Routing
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Must meet all physical requirements
- Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force
- Weekend and night hours occasionally required
- Manual dexterity, including fingering, grasping, and typing
- Ability to communicate with and listen to others
