About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with the Pricing team across various areas within the department
  • Perform special projects across different areas and partner with a variety of roles
  • Gain knowledge of how new accounts are brought onboard and how existing accounts are analyzed for profitability
  • Review new business opportunities and identify key characteristics
  • Sort and organize requests for pricing data for analysis
  • Participate in the Weights and Inspections Process to understand data discrepancies
  • Evaluate freight density and volume for proper cost allocation
  • Review existing accounts to compare preliminary information with actual results and assess business impacts
  • Analyze account profitability using cost model software
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting, validation, and analysis of assigned work
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Actively pursuing a degree in Business Management, Finance, Mathematics, Accounting or Supply Chain
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability to work cooperatively and successfully with employees, customers, and vendors
  • Exceptional attention to numeric and other detail
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
  • Ability to successfully handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Intermediate level ability on Microsoft Excel
  • 15–20 hours per week during the school year
  • 35–40 hours per week during the summer
  • Must be able to commute to the work location at least 2 days a week
  • Ability to perform primarily sedentary work
  • Ability to occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force
  • Regular use of a computer screen or monitor
  • Manual dexterity for fingering, grasping, and typing, including repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motion
  • Ability to talk and hear to communicate and exchange information
