About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the global Corporate IT estate, including Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, telephony, identity, and endpoints
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain a team of six across the UK and South Africa
  • Set technical direction and defend it at leadership meetings
  • Replace manual processes with PowerShell, Graph API, Intune, Slack automations, and other tooling
  • Apply engineering discipline through version control, documentation, and logging
  • Deliver software deployment improvements
  • Refresh the audio-visual estate at the London office
  • Manage asset management and lifecycle planning
  • Direct a multi-million-pound budget, including forecasting, cost control, and supplier performance
  • Negotiate with vendors in partnership with procurement
  • Lead major projects including service transitions, tooling rollouts, and disaster recovery
  • Partner with InfoSec on security posture and compliance
  • Represent Corporate IT within wider technology leadership
  • Build a respected, sustainable IT function
  • Report directly to the CTO

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Genuine technical background, with experience building, breaking, and fixing systems
  • Fluency with Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, and endpoint management across Windows and macOS
  • Demonstrated instinct for automation and eliminating manual work
  • Senior leadership experience in Corporate IT within a multi-site or international organisation
  • Record of delivering modernisation
  • Ability to lead a team, negotiate with vendors, and engage with senior leadership
  • Experience supporting a distributed international user base
  • Experience managing a substantial budget with accountability for it
  • Formal procurement experience (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001, ITIL, and comparable frameworks (nice to have)
  • Experience of M&A integration or complex organisational change (nice to have)
  • Scaled service desk operations and Zendesk experience (nice to have)
  • Microsoft, Cisco, or ITIL qualifications (nice to have)
  • History of successful automation, scripts, or tooling projects (nice to have)
