About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute established data governance processes, policies, standards, and controls
  • Support enterprise governance initiatives by completing governance activities and deliverables
  • Apply governance methodologies, templates, and best practices
  • Create, maintain, and update business metadata, technical metadata, business glossary entries, and data catalog content
  • Document business definitions, data ownership, stewardship assignments, and data lineage
  • Maintain governance repositories, standards documentation, and supporting materials
  • Perform data quality assessments and validation activities
  • Monitor data quality metrics, analyze results, and identify data issues
  • Support root-cause analysis and remediation of data quality challenges
  • Execute testing and validation for governed data assets
  • Partner with Data Governance Managers and subject matter experts to capture business knowledge and requirements
  • Prepare governance documentation and recommendations for review and approval
  • Populate and maintain enterprise data catalogs and governance platforms
  • Support data classification, critical data element identification, and ownership alignment
  • Support governance communications, training materials, and awareness activities
  • Contribute to standardization and continuous improvement of governance practices and deliverables

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking, Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant, or 5 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, analytics, or a related field
  • Foundational understanding of governance concepts, metadata, and data quality management
  • Experience working with business and technical stakeholders on data-related efforts
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work legally in the United States
  • No visa sponsorship/support is available, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency process
  • Familiarity with data catalogs, data quality platforms, or reporting tools preferred
  • Exposure to regulatory data requirements such as GDPR and HIPAA preferred
  • Experience in agile or project-based environments preferred
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, data modeling, or data analysis techniques preferred
  • Ability to gather, document, and translate business data needs into governance deliverables and standards
  • Ability to analyze data quality issues, identify root causes, evaluate governance gaps, and develop solutions
  • Skill in collecting, organizing, maintaining, and documenting metadata, business glossary terms, data lineage, ownership information, and governance records
  • Ability to partner with business stakeholders, data stewards, subject matter experts, and technical teams
  • Ability to create governance documentation, procedures, metadata definitions, training materials, and recommendations
