About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Packaging & Specialty Plastics Corporate Affairs team in implementing communication tactics supporting division businesses and strategic objectives
- Prepare information and content for external website updates following established processes
- Update and manage the currency of internal web content
- Prepare internal announcements and post them to various communications channels
- Support the organization and execution of business events
- Manage inventory, retrieval, and return of items in storage
- Work closely with the business communications team on assigned marketing communications projects
- Perform general administrative tasks as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma/GED and already enrolled at an accredited college or university located close to the Midland or Houston Dow site, pursuing an undergraduate degree
- No required course of study; Public Affairs, Business, or Communication majors may be the best fit
- Successfully complete a minimum of 6 credit hours per term during both the Fall and Winter terms (~Sept-Apr)
- Strong GPA of 3.000+ preferred
- Able to begin work very soon, usually within 3 weeks of the job offer
- Work year-round at least 16 hours each week only during regular business hours (8am-5pm, Monday-Friday), with a maximum of 8 hours/day and 30 hours/week during school
- Commit to the role for at least 1 full calendar year before completing the undergraduate degree or transferring out of the area
- Reliable attendance and punctuality; dependable transportation, dedication, and time management skills required
- Must live within 50 miles of the Dow site to which they are applying
- Current Dow college co-ops transferring into this role must have been in their current role at least one full year, have at least one full year left before graduating or transferring out of the area, and obtain supervisor approval before applying
- Must pass a background check
- Must verify school-related requirements and I-9 documentation before hiring
- Ability to work legally in the United States
- No visa sponsorship/support available, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process
- Ability to deliver quality work, pay attention to detail, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, take initiative, ask for clarification, work independently and cooperatively, and adapt to changing priorities
