About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create value for Dow by defining sourcing opportunities and developing and aligning sourcing strategies
- Leverage supplier relationships and analyze market conditions
- Negotiate with suppliers and internal partners to optimize sustained value
- Analyze and resolve complex problems using information from multiple sources and established or new solutions
- Lead small projects and serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues
- Partner with stakeholders to clarify purchase scope and service requirements
- Use business acumen, market knowledge, and best practices to drive market value and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Assess and manage market, supplier, and purchase-activity risk
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies meeting safety, qualification, compliance, competitiveness, and reliability requirements
- Manage sourcing projects, supplier qualification, RFI, RFQ/RFP, competitive bidding, bid evaluation, and supplier negotiations
- Negotiate, execute, and implement commercial agreements and related work processes
- Conduct Supplier Performance Evaluation and implement Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
- Drive continuous supplier performance improvement through KPIs including Safety, Productivity, and Quality
- Use influential leadership to elevate workgroup performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of a bachelor's degree OR relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5, Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class, or Sergeant ranking OR 10 years of relevant working experience
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience
- For U.S. Applicants: ability to work legally in the United States
- No visa sponsorship/support is available for U.S.-based positions, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency process
- In-depth conceptual and working knowledge of the relevant discipline or functional area
- Strategic thinking and ability to develop long-term plans aligned with organizational objectives
- Analytical thinking and ability to evaluate complex information and identify patterns
- Negotiation skills, including use of digital sourcing tools for e-Auction and e-bidding
- Proactive problem-solving skills
- Stakeholder management and communication skills
- Project management skills
