About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently provide legal counsel to clients
- Provide client legal training and education
- Review and draft legal documents
- Actively manage external counsel and experts
- Collaborate with internal legal subject matter experts and Company resources
- Oversee paralegals and administrative staff in the Legal Department
- Coordinate with business and functional clients concerning discovery
- Establish and monitor expense budgets
- Set strategic direction for each case and related docket of cases
- Develop and implement settlement strategies
- Communicate proactively with Legal Department management and clients
- Participate directly in key depositions, hearings, and trials
- Oversee appellate issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctor or Master of Laws
- Minimum of 7 years practicing as an attorney
- Admission to a State Bar or eligibility for admission
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% annually
- Ability to work legally in the United States
- No visa sponsorship/support available, including for any U.S. permanent residency process
- Demonstrable competence practicing law with a major law firm or corporation
- Strong law school credentials
- Trial and litigation experience
- Product litigation experience
- Commercial litigation experience
- eDiscovery experience
