About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop plans to implement DP World Canada Freight Forwarding strategy, including logistics parks, NVOCC/3PL, short-sea shipping, and the full DP World Freight Forwarding product offering.
  • Engage with cargo owners to build and maintain strong relationships in coordination with the Commercial team, with a focus on face-to-face customer interactions.
  • Identify new business opportunities, assess their contribution to the business, and coordinate the resources required to launch new services.
  • Assess financial and economic factors to identify trade opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with senior management by providing updates and solutions regarding the business impact of projects.
  • Assist in developing pricing structures and financial models for DP World Freight Forwarding services to assess the potential profitability of business opportunities.
  • Develop and sell DP World Freight Forwarding services across Canada.
  • Support Port and Terminal businesses and lead the execution of the trading strategy for Canadian business units.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in business, commerce, or a related field, with knowledge of economics and quantitative analysis.
  • Minimum of 5 years of general management experience; experience with another 3PL provider holding an NVOCC license is an asset.
  • Demonstrated success managing relationships with all key stakeholders, including shareholders and external government agencies.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven business acumen and experience managing and interpreting complex commercial contracts.
  • Strong commitment to client service excellence, with the ability to build lasting relationships.
  • Knowledge of statistics, macroeconomic trends affecting the business, business metrics, and financial fundamentals.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate, and deliver formal presentations.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning processes, with the ability to develop short- and long-term project plans and manage project costs.
  • Fluency in English and French is required to communicate with clients and head office.
  • Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.
