About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze existing practices of members’ automotive shops and recommend improvements based on ATI best practices and techniques
  • Provide coaching, consultation, and mentoring to members to help them achieve business goals and dreams
  • Guide members through ATI’s 48-month re-engineering program and alumni programs
  • Listen actively to shop owners’ needs
  • Communicate with members via phone, Zoom, and email
  • Review financial statements, evaluate competitors, and analyze business practices
  • Develop new business models or prepare recommendations and present them to clients
  • Consult, train, mentor, and coach clients
  • Guide clients through the building blocks of a profitable business
  • Meet or exceed ATI goals, including client return on investment, CSI scores, report cards/road maps, alumni conversation rate, weekly client contact, and class attendance
  • Monitor members’ program status and align their needs with their wants
  • Complete startup agreement paperwork and coach-client agreements
  • Enter clear weekly notes based on client/coach calls
  • Provide research and content for articles, classroom, and training materials
  • Participate in weekly Coaches meetings and monitor trends in service-related industries
  • Attend Shop Owner’s Dinner Events, annual SuperConference, industry events, ATI classes, peer/performance groups, podcasts, owner events, presentations, and tradeshows
  • Attend required company meetings and weekly One on Ones with Team Leaders
  • Manage calendar and time efficiently

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 10 years overall automotive experience with a strong focus in service writing, shop management, operations management, or previous shop ownership, preferably in the independent, non-dealer, aftermarket arena
  • Operations management experience, preferably with an aftermarket chain, involving established internal structure and processes
  • Exceptional coaching and mentoring skills
  • Solid automotive business understanding
  • Ability to influence others over the telephone and videoconferencing
  • Minimum 4 years of teaching, instructing, and mentoring small business owners or employees
  • Clear understanding of the challenges facing independent shop owners
  • Track record of consultative management, people development, and business management prior experience and success working in an organization that provides monthly goals
  • Computer proficiency, particularly in Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of SalesForce CRM, a plus
  • Sales abilities, strongly preferred
  • Accounting or P&L experience
  • Marketing and online/social media experience
  • Writing skills with an interest in writing articles for industry magazines, a plus
  • Solid understanding of how to recruit and retain high quality employees at all levels of experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and persuasion skills
  • Ability to convince business owners to make major changes and paradigm shifts
  • Maintain an appropriate and professional personal image
