About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build rapport and trust with clients by consistently delivering exceptional service
  • Process and input customer orders
  • Run and print shipments from WMS
  • Run stock reports to check product availability
  • Generate paperwork and information required for customer work orders
  • Check orders for special requests
  • Expedite and trace orders and notify customers about merchandise activity
  • Follow up with other departments to ensure service standards are met
  • Verify customers as required for proper invoicing
  • Handle returned merchandise and ensure proper customer credit
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints concerning work orders, invoicing, shipments, and inventory management
  • Act as liaison between the warehouse, office, and customers regarding accounts, invoicing, and credit changes
  • Ensure accuracy of receiving and shipping documents
  • Gather and maintain shipping and receiving data and records
  • Verify receiving counts against packing lists and purchase orders and shipping counts against picking documents
  • Prepare customer service reports as required by supervisors
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies
  • Enter and verify data regarding customer orders, shipments, receipts, physical inventories, and adjustments
  • Oversee order paperwork and maintain corresponding files
  • Answer phone calls, operate office machines and computers, greet customers and visitors, and correspond with customers
  • Route incoming calls, take messages, provide general information, direct visitors, and assist drivers at the check-in window
  • Cross-train in other administrative functions as needed
  • Work overtime as dictated by business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 year experience in Customer Service-related capacity
  • Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Applications
  • WMS functions
  • English (reading, writing, verbal)
  • Business writing proficiency
  • Intermediate level mathematical skills to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products
  • Strong attention to detail accuracy and accomplish job task in a timely manner
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Effective communication skills
  • Must be able to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 21–50 pounds
  • Must be able to bend, walk, stand, reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel
  • 1–3 years warehouse/logistics support experience (preferred)
  • 2–3 years’ experience in Customer Service-related capacity (preferred)
