About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build rapport and trust with clients by consistently delivering exceptional service
  • Enter and verify shipping, receiving, order, inventory, and adjustment data accurately and promptly
  • Process customer orders and coordinate inbound and outbound activity for assigned accounts
  • Run and print shipments from WMS and generate required work-order paperwork
  • Check orders for special requests, expedite and trace orders, and notify customers of merchandise activity
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints regarding work orders, invoices, shipments, inventory, and credit changes
  • Coordinate with warehouse, office, customer, and other departments to meet service standards
  • Investigate and communicate client complaints according to site and company protocols
  • Oversee shipping and receiving activity for the Customer Service Department
  • Prepare activity, customer service, and other reports for site management and supervisors
  • Research and resolve shipping, receiving, inventory, invoicing, and documentation discrepancies
  • Maintain shipping and receiving records, files, paperwork, and data
  • Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and standard operating procedures
  • Assist with forklift operation and certification for associates
  • Direct CSR team operations, assist with schedules, productivity sheets, payroll-hour capture, and workforce levels
  • Answer telephone calls, route calls, greet visitors, assist drivers, and provide general information
  • Participate in safety programs, inventory oversight, cleanliness, cross-training, and other site-specific duties
  • Work overtime as dictated by business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 year experience in Customer Service-related capacity
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Applications
  • WMS functions
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Business writing proficiency
  • Intermediate mathematical skills to verify product quantities, count inventory, and perform related duties
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a stimulating, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift, carry, and push/pull 21–50 pounds
  • Ability to reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel
  • Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures
  • Preferred: 1 year customer invoicing experience
  • Preferred: 2–3 years customer service experience
  • Preferred: 3–5 years manufacturing or distribution/logistics experience
  • Preferred: 3–5 years basic math computations experience
