About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Classify and compile a variety of commodities within the customs tariff
  • Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, freight forwarders, and government bodies when necessary
  • Provide a high level of customer service
  • Troubleshoot queries with clients and internal departments
  • Ensure consignments are cleared efficiently and timely
  • Support day-to-day customs entry processes and the Operational Customs Manager to achieve continuous improvement
  • Ensure the department has the necessary tools and resources to complete assigned tasks efficiently and with quality
  • Participate in recruitment and development of team members, including mentoring, coaching, challenging, and evaluating team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Customs Compiling and Classifying, or currently undertaking/completed a recognised Customs course
  • Proficiency in CargoWise One is essential
  • Solid understanding of the Customs Tariff and related regulations
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
