About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the finance data warehouse, data architecture, and data models supporting planning, reporting, and analytics
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data models integrating ERP, billing, operational, labor, and customer data
  • Develop and maintain SQL-based ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and validate source-system data
  • Establish data governance standards, data definitions, master data, access controls, data quality checks, and general-ledger reconciliation
  • Partner with IT and Enterprise Data teams on platform decisions, security, environment management, and performance optimization
  • Lead the finance BI and reporting strategy and roadmap
  • Design executive dashboards and KPI frameworks covering P&L, cost-to-serve, labor productivity, margin, and cash metrics
  • Standardize reporting and metrics across customer accounts and drive self-service analytics adoption
  • Build and own automated, driver-based forecasting and financial planning models
  • Automate ERP and data-warehouse reporting, including actual-versus-plan and forecast variance reporting
  • Develop predictive and statistical models for volume, revenue, and cost-driver forecasting
  • Support annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasting, and month-end close cycles with reconciled, auditable data
  • Lead cross-functional finance data and systems programs from scoping through delivery
  • Manage the finance data and automation roadmap, project charters, requirements, timelines, risks, issues, and status reporting
  • Coordinate Finance, Operations, IT, vendors, and consultants without direct authority
  • Lead system implementations, integrations, enhancements, UAT, cutover, and post-go-live support
  • Identify and eliminate manual, broken, and unnecessary finance processes
  • Automate accruals, invoice uploads, and billing reconciliations
  • Measure automation value through hours saved, error reduction, cycle-time improvement, and cost savings
  • Evaluate and recommend cloud data, workflow automation, and AI/ML technologies
  • Advise Finance and Operations leadership on data, analytics, and technology strategy
  • Translate technical concepts into executive-ready insights and presentations
  • Mentor and upskill analysts and finance team members on SQL, BI tools, and data best practices
  • Manage sensitive financial information securely and in compliance with internal controls

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial systems, data engineering, or business intelligence
  • At least 3 years in a senior or lead technical role
  • Experience designing, building, and owning a finance or operations data warehouse or enterprise reporting platform
  • Experience leading cross-functional programs or system implementations from inception through delivery
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, or third-party logistics preferred
  • Advanced SQL proficiency, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, and query performance tuning
  • Hands-on experience with data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric/Azure Synapse, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, or SQL Server
  • Expert-level proficiency with BI tools, preferably Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience building and orchestrating ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, SSIS, dbt, or Alteryx
  • Python for data transformation, automation, and forecasting is a strong plus
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Familiarity with Git, Jira, Azure DevOps, and Power Automate preferred
  • PMP, Agile/Scrum, or relevant data and cloud certifications preferred
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Strong mathematical, statistical, analytical, financial, and accounting skills
  • Understanding of accounting principles, P&L structure, and financial close processes
  • Ability to travel by plane and automobile
