  • Provide overall direction and guidance to organizational operational activities
  • Provide strategic leadership and management to operations across a large geographic region
  • Maximize regional growth and profitability while managing resources according to company and client expectations and policies
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term strategies to achieve financial and growth targets
  • Develop emerging talent and successors and promote DSV values
  • Support company growth and transformational initiatives
  • Develop regional strategies aligned with enterprise targets
  • Plan and budget regional financial targets and ensure results are achieved
  • Ensure operational excellence through standardization, risk assessment, and review of key metrics
  • Lead initiatives for talent selection and development and improve associate engagement
  • Build and sustain long-term client relationships
  • Support sales initiatives by partnering with key clients and maintaining strong client focus
  • Plan and execute start-up facilities for new business
  • Lead teams and partner with clients to troubleshoot and solve operational issues
  • Contribute to sales and solutions efforts to win strategic accounts
  • Develop and implement client-specific operations strategies for cost control, margin improvement, and organic growth
  • Work effectively within a complex matrixed environment
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, Sales, Finance, and other supporting departments
  • Perform special projects as required
  • Directly supervise General Managers and manage performance of direct reports
  • Build bench strength by leading, developing, and challenging operations teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, or equivalent fields required
  • Minimum 10 years of logistics operations management experience with big box, e-commerce, or specialty retailers
  • At least 5 years of experience as a regional operations leader managing multiple locations
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Working knowledge of industry WMS
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Intermediate mathematical, accounting, and financial skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual/presentation communication skills
  • Ability to navigate a matrixed organizational structure
  • Results-oriented and able to meet timelines
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple organizational levels in a complex matrix environment
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Ability to question and challenge existing ways of thinking
  • Experience in a client-centric environment with accountability for operations metrics and client relations
  • Experience troubleshooting and solving problems with operations teams and client representatives
  • Direct experience preparing budgets and participating in financial reviews, with understanding of standard and actual cost variances
  • Experience leading, recruiting, developing, and motivating high-performing teams
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and partners
  • Ability to plan and accomplish goals using experience and judgment
  • Ability to achieve company goals where creativity and latitude are required
  • Integration experience with the supply chain industry helpful
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Third-party logistics experience preferred but not required
  • Involvement in relevant professional organizations desirable
  • Domestic travel may be required
  • Ability to perform occasional standing, walking, and lifting as needed for everyday activities
