About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise and provide day-to-day leadership to drivers, helpers, and supporting warehouse personnel
  • Monitor performance, coach, train, and provide ongoing operational support
  • Coordinate daily dispatch, driver and helper assignments, and delivery schedules
  • Monitor active routes and delivery progress, addressing delays, staffing concerns, site conditions, equipment issues, and customer requirements
  • Collaborate with Account Managers on customer-specific requirements, SOPs, service expectations, delivery protocols, and escalation procedures
  • Communicate customer-specific SOPs and delivery requirements to operational personnel
  • Train and coach personnel on customer interaction, handling delicate and high-value items, delivery procedures, and assembly or installation standards
  • Reinforce professional conduct, appearance, communication, and service expectations
  • Serve as an escalation point for field issues, customer complaints, delivery exceptions, and complex assembly or installation challenges
  • Maintain communication with drivers and field teams and provide operational support
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback, coaching, and development
  • Foster a team environment focused on safety, accountability, professionalism, service excellence, and performance
  • Monitor driver availability, route progress, Hours of Service, traffic, weather, site requirements, and operational conditions
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, transportation laws, and company safety policies
  • Audit delivery vehicles, specialized equipment, tools, uniforms, and employee appearance
  • Monitor specialized equipment such as liftgates, stair climbers, protective padding, and other VAD tools
  • Drive zero-damage delivery performance through planning, product protection, site inspections, delivery execution, and post-delivery procedures
  • Review damage incidents, service failures, complaints, and delivery exceptions to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct team meetings on safety, customer requirements, operational updates, service expectations, compliance, and communication
  • Collaborate with Account Managers, customer service, operations, and internal teams to resolve customer issues
  • Support initiatives improving service quality, on-time performance, damage prevention, efficiency, employee performance, and customer experience
  • Use Transportation Management Systems and related technology to manage operations, monitor performance, and support decisions
  • Train employees on technology platforms, operational systems, and delivery documentation
  • Review and approve operational documentation, reports, delivery records, and employee-related records
  • Travel occasionally to customer or delivery locations for field operations, service issues, training, site assessments, or business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, delivery operations, or a related operational environment
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or people leadership experience required
  • Experience in last-mile, white-glove, luxury, final-mile, specialized delivery, or similar service-focused transportation environment preferred
  • Experience supervising or coordinating drivers, helpers, warehouse personnel, or field-based operational teams preferred
  • Experience coordinating dispatch, delivery scheduling, route assignments, or similar transportation activities preferred
  • Experience with customer-specific SOPs, service requirements, or delivery protocols preferred
  • Experience supporting delicate, high-value, oversized, or specialized product deliveries preferred
  • Experience with assembly, installation, or value-added delivery services preferred
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance requirements
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Strong understanding of delivery operations, dispatch, scheduling, route execution, and field support
  • Strong customer service, problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and reinforce customer-specific SOPs and service requirements
  • Ability to train and coach employees on customer interaction, specialized product handling, and assembly or installation procedures
  • Ability to coordinate multiple routes, delivery teams, customer requirements, and operational priorities
  • Working knowledge of DOT requirements and transportation safety practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems, dispatch systems, and operational technology platforms preferred
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements in operational environments
