About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate end-to-end air import shipments of automotive vehicles, including working with overseas partners, arranging pickups, and managing delivery schedules
- Prepare import documentation, including EPA forms, DOT forms, and temporary import statements
- Review air waybills, commercial invoices, and packing lists for compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, import laws, and company policies
- Communicate with airlines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners to monitor and track shipments and update customers
- Collaborate with sales, customs brokerage, and warehouse teams to meet customer requirements and timelines
- Manage payments to airlines, car carriers, and other logistics partners
- Handle billing of freight charges and provide backup documentation for air imports
- Identify process improvement and cost-saving opportunities within air import operations
- Manage customer relationships and provide exceptional customer service
Requirements
What you’ll need- Prior experience in freight forwarding operations and international logistics, or a related field is preferred
- Experience in air imports is highly preferred
- Experience in air import coordination, preferably in the automotive or transportation industry
- Strong knowledge of import documentation requirements, preferably in the automotive sector
- Experience working with automotive vehicles or related cargo is highly preferred
- Familiarity with freight forwarding operations and international logistics
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and rates
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Knowledge of air freight logistics and customs regulations
- Understanding of trade laws and regulations
- Fluency in English is required
- Knowledge of additional languages is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with logistics software and systems is preferred
