About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the strategic direction, operations, compliance, and financial results of a designated operation
  • Serve as primary customer interface for leadership decisions regarding proposal approval and contract negotiations
  • Champion local continuous improvement, LEAN practices, supply chain analysis, Six Sigma initiatives, and ISO activities
  • Develop marketing plans and assist in growing new business
  • Ensure operations adhere to corporate mission, vision, core values, and client and company expectations
  • Oversee manpower, recruiting, retention, and development of personnel
  • Ensure procedures support client service, productivity, and facilities and equipment maintenance
  • Set continuous improvement goals for assigned sites
  • Oversee operational safety and security, safety programs, committees, and compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements
  • Develop teams, train and educate management, and support mentoring, succession planning, and management development
  • Develop automation/technology plans and capital requests; stay current with WMS technology
  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets, controls, service levels, operational performance, costs, revenue, and profit
  • Champion client relationship management and monitor KPIs
  • Coordinate and lead business reviews with client and company representatives
  • Participate in local trade, professional, and civic associations
  • Supervise Operations Managers, Supervisors, and other assigned leadership roles
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Budgeting and P&L management experience required
  • At least 3 years of experience in an operations management related position
  • Basic understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
  • Strong proficiency in basic MS Office applications
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Advanced expertise in accounting and financial mathematical applications related to managing a P&L and preparing site/operational budgets
  • Ability to develop effective relationships, provide leadership, and integrate diverse organizations and individuals toward unifying objectives
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, reach, climb, and stand for several hours per day
  • Must be able to travel by plane and/or automobile
  • Travel may be required based on business needs
  • Four-Year College Degree preferred; equivalent experience or combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Prefer 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in a logistics/distribution/supply chain environment in an operations management capacity
  • Varied industry vertical experience preferred
  • 3PL management experience strongly preferred
