About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the strategic direction, operations, compliance, and financial results of a designated operation
- Serve as primary customer interface for leadership decisions regarding proposal approval and contract negotiations
- Lead continuous improvement, LEAN practices, supply chain analysis, Six Sigma initiatives, and ISO activities
- Develop marketing plans and assist with new business growth
- Ensure operations, equipment, and products are managed safely and profitably according to company policies
- Lead operations to meet productivity and service goals and comply with client operating agreements
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, business partners, and clients
- Implement OSHA and federal/state legal compliance requirements
- Develop and manage controls for service levels, operational performance, costs, revenue, and profit
- Partner with senior leadership on the annual operating budget and maintain contract pricing
- Ensure overall operational safety and security
- Develop teams and support mentoring, succession planning, and management development
- Plan automation and technology investments and ensure compliant procurement of hardware and software
- Lead client business reviews and provide operational and administrative support
- Participate in account strategy, prospecting, quoting rates, and new opportunity development
- Manage sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and material handling equipment programs
- Audit warehouse compliance with safety, security, and quality requirements
- Manage operations managers
- Work overtime as dictated by the business and perform other required duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- 7 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
- 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in logistics/distribution/supply chain environment in operations management capacity
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated proficiency with applicable WMS systems
- English reading, writing, and verbal proficiency
- Proficiency in business communication at all levels
- Advanced expertise in accounting and financial mathematical applications related to managing a P&L and preparing site/operation budgets
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 21–50 pounds
- Ability to reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation
