About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the strategic direction, operations, compliance, and financial results of a designated operation
- Serve as primary customer interface for proposal approval and contract negotiations
- Lead continuous improvement, LEAN, supply chain analysis, Six Sigma, and ISO initiatives
- Develop marketing plans and assist in growing new business
- Ensure adherence to corporate mission, vision, core values, policies, and client expectations
- Establish systems and procedures for safe and profitable management of operations, equipment, and products
- Lead operations to meet productivity and service goals and comply with client operating agreements
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, business partners, and clients
- Implement OSHA requirements and federal and state legal compliance
- Develop controls to achieve service-level and operational performance goals within cost, revenue, and profit parameters
- Partner with senior leadership on the annual operating budget
- Ensure overall operational safety and security
- Develop teams to achieve company and client objectives
- Support mentoring, succession planning, and management development
- Plan automation and technology investments and ensure compliant software and hardware purchasing
- Lead client relationship management and business reviews
- Participate in account strategies, prospecting, new opportunities, and quoting rates
- Develop and maintain contract pricing in a multi-client environment
- Manage sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and material-handling equipment programs
- Establish a proactive safety culture and audit warehouse compliance
- Manage operations managers
- Work overtime as dictated by business and perform other duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- 7 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
- 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in logistics/distribution/supply chain environment in operations management capacity
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated proficiency with applicable WMS systems
- English reading, writing, and verbal proficiency
- Advanced expertise in accounting and financial mathematical applications related to managing a P&L and preparing site/operation budgets
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 21–50 pounds
- Ability to reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation
