About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, space utilization, continuous improvement, and quality control
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, directives, standard operating procedures, and quality standards
  • Administer the cycle count program and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and perpetual records
  • Audit error reports, inventory transactions, miscellaneous receipts, and issues; take corrective action
  • Analyze and publish monthly and year-to-date cycle count variance data from WMS reports
  • Lead physical inventory activities and use the online Inventory Audit Trail for research and corrective action
  • Prepare monthly reports on major problems and project or assignment updates
  • Audit the warehouse for safety, security, quality, cleanliness, and orderliness
  • Communicate with DSV representatives and clients; write corrective/preventive actions, operational reports, counseling memos, and evaluations
  • Conduct daily startup meetings, gather associate feedback, coordinate operations with the manager, and address operational issues
  • Provide information on labor and equipment needs to meet customer demands
  • Develop team leaders, delegate work, oversee shifts, and evaluate inventory staff and subordinates
  • Assist with associate relations, training, and cross-training
  • Maintain compliance with international, industry, and customer-specific quality standards
  • Analyze product/service issues to determine root causes
  • Manage and communicate change-control processes
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and maintain the internal quality audit system
  • Assist with quality-system implementation and monitoring, including ISO 9001:2008 compliance
  • Establish, implement, and evaluate quality-management-system metrics
  • Support customer service and quality departments with problem solving and improvement opportunities
  • Manage customer-driven continual-improvement roadmaps
  • Develop and conduct quality-system training
  • Oversee document control, controlled-document updates, change notifications, record management, traceability, and trend reporting
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 year experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
  • Ability to operate MHE
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience with RF scanners
  • Experience with WMS functions
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying product quantities and counting inventory
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to accomplish job tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a stimulating, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required
  • Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 11–20 pounds
  • Ability to bend, reach above shoulder, squat, kneel, walk, stand, and sit
  • Preferred: 1–3 years’ experience working in an inventory department
  • Preferred: 1–3 years in a progressive leadership role
