About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain perpetual record integrity and inventory accuracy within the facility
  • Maximize space utilization and monitor inventory levels and product movement
  • Control and isolate non-conforming or damaged product
  • Oversee inventory associates and other department staff
  • Input data accurately into the WMS
  • Stack and store products in appropriate areas
  • Develop and monitor space utilization and layout plans
  • Develop and maintain an effective product locator system
  • Delegate work and responsibilities to subordinates
  • Oversee scheduled shifts and evaluate inventory staff
  • Analyze daily and directed cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Audit daily error reports and correct issues
  • Analyze and publish monthly WMS cycle-count variance reports
  • Review stock change transactions, miscellaneous receipts, and issues for validity and take corrective action
  • Lead physical inventory activities
  • Use the online Inventory Audit Trail for corrective-action research
  • Drive process improvements and prepare monthly reports on major problems and project updates
  • Assist with associate relations and training
  • Audit the warehouse for safety, security, and quality compliance
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area and promote safety
  • Communicate with DSV representatives and clients; prepare corrective/preventive actions, operational reports, attendance follow-ups, counseling memos, and evaluations
  • Conduct daily startup meetings and coordinate operations to meet daily objectives
  • Communicate labor and equipment needs to management and develop team leaders
  • Work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, and overtime as required
  • Participate in cross-training activities and provide backup support
  • Communicate policies and procedures with leadership
  • Ensure training and development for inventory leads, associates, and CSR staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 4 years of distribution/logistics experience
  • 2 years of logistics/distribution/relevant experience in a supervisory role
  • Able to operate MHE
  • Must be able to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures ranging from mild to moderate in warmer and colder months
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience with RF scanners, WMS functions, and Microsoft Excel
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities and counting inventory
  • Trained and/or certified in inventory management methodologies and tools such as Six Sigma and Lean
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to teach, coach, mentor, delegate, and develop staff
  • Ability to foster continuous improvement
  • Preferred: college degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations, or equivalent
  • Preferred: 6+ years in a 3PL
  • Preferred: current or prior MHE certification
  • Preferred: ability to operate an electric pallet jack and dock loader (Pacer)
