About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain perpetual record integrity and inventory accuracy through administration of the cycle count program
  • Oversee inventory associates and other department staff
  • Implement and monitor space utilization and layout plans
  • Implement and maintain an effective product locator system
  • Delegate work and responsibilities to subordinates
  • Oversee scheduled shifts and evaluate inventory staff
  • Analyze daily and directed cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Audit daily error reports and make corrections
  • Analyze and publish monthly and year-to-date cycle count variance data from WMS reports
  • Validate stock change-in and stock change-out transactions against product structure
  • Analyze miscellaneous receipts and issues and take corrective action
  • Lead physical inventory activities
  • Research inventory issues using the online Inventory Audit Trail
  • Prepare monthly reports on major problems and project updates
  • Assist with associate relations, training, and development
  • Audit the warehouse for safety, security, quality, and housekeeping compliance
  • Communicate with DSV representatives and clients; prepare corrective/preventive actions, reports, attendance follow-ups, counseling memos, and evaluations
  • Conduct daily startup meetings and encourage associate feedback, teamwork, and development
  • Coordinate operations with the manager to achieve daily objectives
  • Report internal and external operational issues
  • Provide management with information about labor and equipment needs
  • Develop team leaders and ensure associate expectations are met
  • Assist management and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
  • Preferred: 1–3 years’ experience working in an inventory department
  • Preferred: 1–3 years in a progressive leadership role
  • Able to operate MHE
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience with RF scanners
  • Knowledge of WMS functions
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities and counting inventory
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures
  • Able to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 1–20 pounds
  • Ability to bend, walk, stand, sit, reach above shoulder, squat, or kneel
