About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and oversee daily operational activities assigned to the warehouse team
  • Oversee warehouse receiving, shipping, picking, staging, and product handling
  • Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist with forklift operation and certification
  • Coordinate unloading inbound shipments and loading outbound orders
  • Verify shipping and receiving paperwork, product counts, doors, and trailers
  • Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
  • Communicate with customers by telephone, electronically, or in person
  • Prepare activity reports for site management
  • Verify product and order quality, report damages and discrepancies, and package, shrink-wrap, and label products
  • Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
  • Participate in quality and safety meetings
  • Execute safety protocols and maintain warehouse cleanliness and security
  • Direct warehouse work-team operations and assist with productivity and payroll-hour records
  • Participate in work-schedule establishment and ensure effective job assignments
  • Initiate and recommend solutions for product, process, and quality non-conformities
  • Operate, inspect, and perform minor maintenance on warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
  • Perform clerical and administrative duties as assigned, including answering telephones, scheduling, filing, and record keeping

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 year experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
  • Able to operate MHE
  • Must be able to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
  • Basic computer skills
  • RF Scanners
  • WMS functions
  • English (reading, writing, verbal)
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills to verify product quantities and count inventory
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment
  • Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Willing to work mandatory or voluntary overtime as dictated by business
  • Must maintain an active forklift certification
