About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process customer orders accurately and on time
  • Generate order paperwork and check for special requests and shipping documentation
  • Coordinate special and last-minute shipping requests with the operations department
  • Prioritize orders according to scheduled pickup times or pier cutoff
  • Provide shipping and tracking information
  • Respond to customer inquiries about receipts, shipments, and inventory counts
  • Report customer feedback and signs of dissatisfaction to management
  • Oversee order paperwork and maintain corresponding files
  • Maintain the DSV Work Instructions Manual
  • Answer phone calls and operate office machines and computers
  • Enter and verify data concerning orders, shipments, receipts, and adjustments
  • Ensure accuracy of receiving and shipping documents
  • Maintain shipping and receiving records
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies
  • Collect inbound freight documentation and route it to the proper record-keeping unit
  • Perform assigned clerical and other duties; provide backup support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Working knowledge of computerized applications (Microsoft Suites)
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Basic-level mathematical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to accomplish job tasks in a timely manner
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months, ranging from mild to moderate
  • Ability to work overtime as dictated by business, mandatory or voluntary
  • Previous customer service experience, including phone calls and operating office equipment (preferred)
