About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Dispatch drivers for U.S. domestic shipment pick-ups and deliveries
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, shipping regulations, and internal policies
Prioritize time-sensitive cargo
Coordinate transportation and operations for contractors, company drivers, partner carriers, and customers
Receive and process transportation requests from customers
Use transportation software systems to facilitate material movement, planning, and scheduling
Track and trace shipments from pick-up through delivery
Provide accurate and up-to-date shipment information to customers
Resolve issues by identifying problems, applying critical thinking, and implementing solutions
Capture data accurately and enter it into systems
Maintain positive customer, contractor, and company driver relationships
Communicate with customers, contractors, drivers, partner carriers, and team members
Assist with new account start-ups
Promote the DSV Road Transport brand
Perform other assigned duties and projects

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or GED required; logistics or transportation experience preferred
1–3 years of experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or a related operational role
Experience coordinating domestic shipments, dispatching drivers, and tracking freight through delivery
Familiarity with transportation systems or dispatch software and strong data entry skills
Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance, or ability to learn quickly
Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Proficiency in typing and PC applications, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong English language skills, including reading, writing, and verbal communication; Spanish is a plus
Intermediate mathematical skills and ability to work accurately with numbers and data
Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekend coverage, or changing schedules
Ability to perform extended periods of sitting and frequent typing, data entry, and operation of standard office equipment
Ability to communicate effectively via phone, radio, and video conferencing
Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching may be required
Ability to work in or around terminal yards or dock areas and varying weather conditions when required
