About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage, support and coordinate transporter information and deliverables to ensure customer service levels are met
  • Coordinate and consolidate information from various transporters in a presentable manner
  • Understand client businesses, requirements and customer requirements
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with clients and transporters
  • Execute contractual SLAs and KPIs
  • Identify, action and manage deliverables proactively
  • Perform audit compliance and ad hoc duties required by operations
  • Maintain reports aligned with KPIs and contractual obligations
  • Complete daily system checks to ensure data flows between transporter systems
  • Attend daily team meetings with stakeholders regarding client and transportation deliverables
  • Manage client queries daily and escalate and resolve issues within KPI requirements
  • Support creation and maintenance of processes, SOPs and work instructions
  • Train staff and roll out change-management processes
  • Ensure performance measurement, systems and metrics support service excellence and client centricity
  • Maintain clear communication among operations, warehouse, transporters and clients to manage achievements and exceptions proactively
  • Review data to identify improvement areas and support transportation-product development
  • Manage and execute invoices
  • Manage domestic and cross-border/international transport requirements and documentation compliance, including export/import controls

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum Requirements: Matric or equivalent
  • Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Transport Management is advantageous
  • Intermediate to proficient computer literacy, including Excel and PowerPoint for data management and reporting
  • 2–5 years’ relevant experience in the retail industry, transportation roles, supply chain environments, customer service in warehouse and transportation environments, and transporter service-level management
  • Intricate understanding of warehouse and transporter synergies and client requirements/KPIs
  • Extensive knowledge of inbound, outbound and return processes and workflows, including warehouse and transport requirements
  • Proven skills in organizing, directing, controlling and monitoring
  • Ability to manage customer expectations and ensure compliance with policies, regulations, work instructions and workloads
  • Sound understanding of supply chain
  • Understanding of domestic and cross-border/international transport requirements
  • Focus on documentation compliance and export/import controls
  • Good interpersonal, communication, analytical, logical-thinking and conflict-management skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships
  • Punctuality and good time-management skills
  • Understanding of MRP management principles
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Assertive, forward-thinking, proactive, solution-driven, self-motivated and accountable
  • Good with people, attentive to detail and possessing a sense of urgency
