About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage day-to-day site operations, including warehousing, receiving, and shipping
  • Plan inbound and outbound volume, customer communication, space utilization, and equipment management
  • Hire and train employees; manage labor planning and performance appraisals
  • Address performance issues and resolve operational problems
  • Develop systems and procedures for safe and profitable operations
  • Manage operations to meet productivity, service, KPI, quality, and client SLA goals
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
  • Supervise, counsel, motivate, and discipline team members fairly and equitably
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on hiring, training, professional development, promotions, wage increases, and other HR activities
  • Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical operational issues
  • Plan daily work schedules, prioritize work orders, and assign warehouse duties
  • Plan warehouse-space reorganizations and staffing, supply, and equipment changes
  • Ensure effective training, SOP adherence, and trainee progress assessments
  • Conduct routine staff meetings
  • Ensure team members are trained and efficient in WMS and other required information systems
  • Manage customer service standards, client support, customer meetings, and site visits
  • Support annual operating-budget development and financial controls
  • Manage sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and material-handling equipment programs
  • Establish a proactive safety culture and audit warehouse compliance
  • Manage warehouse operations supervisors and support staff
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 7 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
  • 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, and Power Point)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applicable WMS systems
  • English reading, writing, and verbal proficiency
  • Proficiency in business communication at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational and personnel skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required by the operation
  • Ability to adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment

  • Base pay range of $105,000.00–$110,000.00 annually
