About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant customs, export control, sanctions and foreign trade regulations across the DACH region
  • Monitor and further develop control mechanisms, compliance processes and internal policies
  • Oversee Military & Defence matters, taking national and international regulatory requirements into account
  • Collaborate with customs and other relevant authorities and support official inspections and audits
  • Assess regulatory changes and integrate new requirements into existing processes
  • Identify opportunities for optimisation and continuously develop the compliance organisation
  • Work closely with Legal, Finance, Operations and other relevant departments
  • Provide functional and disciplinary leadership to a team of approximately 10 employees

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed university degree, e.g. in business law, law, logistics, supply chain management or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in trade compliance, customs or a comparable international environment
  • Experience with regulatory requirements in the Military & Defence sector is an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of relevant customs, foreign trade, export control and sanctions regulations
  • Experience in leading and developing employees
  • Confident manner when dealing with authorities, customers, management and international stakeholders
  • Very good written and spoken German and English
  • Willingness to undertake occasional business travel within the DACH region
