About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as primary point of contact for assigned cloud computing customers
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships through proactive communication
  • Manage day-to-day freight brokerage activities and execute transportation requests accurately and efficiently
  • Coordinate high-risk, high-value freight from pickup through final delivery
  • Determine transportation solutions based on service, capacity, pricing, security, and customer requirements
  • Partner with Carrier Sales to identify qualified capacity and transportation solutions
  • Provide pricing guidance and negotiate rates and service requirements with carriers
  • Communicate customer-specific handling, tracking, security, and communication requirements
  • Monitor shipments and proactively communicate milestones, delays, exceptions, and status updates
  • Resolve shipment exceptions, service failures, delays, and operational concerns
  • Escalate significant service, security, or operational concerns
  • Maintain shipment, customer, carrier, pricing, and operational information in the TMS and other systems
  • Analyze account activity, transportation spend, service performance, shipment trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Prepare and present customer reporting and performance metrics
  • Conduct Monthly Business Reviews and Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Identify opportunities to expand customer relationships through additional lanes, services, and shipment volume
  • Research and develop growth opportunities within assigned branch house accounts
  • Develop solutions improving service, efficiency, profitability, and account performance
  • Maintain knowledge of transportation markets, carrier capacity, pricing trends, and service solutions
  • Build relationships across departments, customers, carriers, vendors, and external partners
  • Maintain confidentiality and perform other duties and projects assigned by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, account management, or related field required
  • Experience working within freight brokerage or transportation operations strongly preferred
  • Experience managing customer relationships within a transportation, logistics, or supply chain environment preferred
  • Experience with high-value, high-risk, time-sensitive, or specialized freight preferred
  • Experience with transportation pricing, carrier negotiations, capacity management, and freight brokerage operations preferred
  • Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) required
  • Strong understanding of freight brokerage and transportation operations
  • Strong customer relationship management and service orientation
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and standard business applications
  • Ability to handle time-sensitive operational issues, shipment exceptions, confidential information, and multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with customers, carriers, and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work flexible hours when required
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods and occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 20 pounds
