About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for assigned customers
  • Develop strong, long-term customer relationships through proactive communication and consistent service
  • Manage day-to-day LTL transportation needs and execute shipment requests accurately and efficiently
  • Coordinate routing, scheduling, pickup and delivery requirements, carrier selection, and communications with carriers, terminals, customers, and internal teams
  • Evaluate LTL service options based on customer requirements, transit time, lane, freight characteristics, carrier capabilities, service levels, and cost
  • Use LTL rating tools, tariffs, pricing agreements, and TMS for routing, rating, shipment planning, and execution
  • Monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery and provide status updates
  • Identify and resolve delays, missed pickups or deliveries, service failures, OS&D issues, rating discrepancies, reclassifications, accessorial charges, billing issues, and other exceptions
  • Secure capacity and service solutions with internal operations and carrier-facing teams
  • Analyze account activity, shipment volume, spend, service performance, carrier performance, and operational data
  • Identify opportunities to improve service, transit time, cost, operational efficiency, and existing customer relationships
  • Support new customer and business onboarding, including SOPs, routing requirements, service expectations, and communication processes
  • Prepare and present customer reports and conduct Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Partner with customers and internal stakeholders on continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate customer, shipment, pricing, routing, SOP, and operational information in TMS and other systems
  • Follow regulatory, company, carrier, safety, and operational requirements
  • Build relationships across departments, customers, carriers, terminals, vendors, and external partners
  • Perform other duties and project work assigned by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in LTL transportation, freight brokerage, transportation operations, account management, or related field required; 5 or more years preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with LTL transportation operations, including routing, pricing, carrier networks, and shipment execution
  • Experience with LTL pricing structures, tariffs, freight classification, accessorial charges, and transportation cost models
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and LTL rating tools required
  • Strong knowledge of LTL operations, carrier networks, terminal operations, routing, transit times, and service requirements
  • Strong understanding of LTL pricing concepts, tariffs, freight classification, density, minimum charges, accessorials, discounts, and customer-specific pricing
  • Strong customer relationship management, negotiation, influencing, analytical, organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and standard business applications
  • Ability to use TMS, LTL rating tools, carrier systems, and transportation technology
  • Working knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and industry requirements
  • Ability to work flexible hours when required
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods, communicate through various channels, and occasionally lift or move items up to 20 pounds
