About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise day-to-day warehouse, receiving, and shipping operations
  • Plan inbound and outbound volume, customer communication, space utilization, and equipment management
  • Hire, train, manage labor, conduct performance appraisals, address performance issues, and resolve problems
  • Develop safe and profitable systems and procedures for operations, equipment, and products
  • Manage productivity, service goals, client SLAs, KPIs, and quality requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
  • Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical operational issues
  • Plan daily work schedules and assign duties to warehouse staff
  • Plan warehouse-space reorganizations and staffing, supply, and equipment changes
  • Ensure effective training, SOP adherence, trainee assessment, and team development
  • Conduct routine staff meetings
  • Ensure team proficiency in WMS and other required information systems
  • Ensure software and hardware purchases comply with Corporate IT policies
  • Manage customer service standards, client support, customer meetings, and site visits
  • Support annual operating budget development and financial controls
  • Manage sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and material-handling equipment programs
  • Establish a proactive safety culture and audit warehouse compliance
  • Manage warehouse operations supervisors and support staff
  • Work overtime as required and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 7 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
  • 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applicable WMS systems
  • English reading, writing, and verbal proficiency
  • Proficiency in business communication at all levels
  • Able to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required by the operation
  • Must be able to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
  • Ability to participate in cross-training activities
  • Ability to adapt to change and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 21–50 pounds
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
