About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee the transportation and logistics department's daily operations to ensure all processes run smoothly and efficiently
Coordinate with internal departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure customer needs are met
Develop and implement transportation and logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability
Collaborate with external partners, such as carriers and suppliers, to maintain strong relationships and ensure reliable transportation services
Monitor transportation and logistics performance metrics and implement corrective actions where necessary
Conduct regular audits of transportation and logistics processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
Provide timely and accurate reports on transportation and logistics activities to management
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize transportation and logistics operations

Requirements

What you’ll need

A minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics management is required
Experience in the freight forwarding industry is preferred
Strong organizational and project management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of transportation and logistics regulations and compliance
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Fluent in English (oral and written)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
Certification in transportation and logistics, such as Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) or Certified Logistics Professional (CLP), preferred
Experience with transportation management software (TMS) is preferred
